1.  INTRODUCTION

Deflection testing adopted as per M/s O.B Developers.  and it is used only to evaluate whether a structure or a portion of a structure satisfies the  deflection safety requirements

2.  SCOPE

To evaluate whether a structure or a portion of a structure satisfies the deflection safety requirements

2.1  Some reasons why we need the load testing:

  • Due to long unsupported span it’s important to check weather structure deflection is in permissible limit of deflection or not as per data provided by M/s xxxxxx.
  • Due to heavy load on top floor.

3.  REFERENCES:-

M/s xxxxxx provided data for deflection locations and permissible limit.

      Procedure for Deflection Check Test

  1. Platform preparation
  2. Dial gauge assembling
  3. Initial reading before support removal
  4. Reading after some time of  support removal

4.1 Platform preparation

     Attachment of wire to existing beam

  • Prepare a hook using 16mm or more diameter bar and weld it to the existing beam at all the location where dial gauge need to be fixed & Attach the clutch wire (2mm diameter) with the hooks

  1. Prepare a leveled platform below the location of dial gauge to be fixed and placed a MS plate 300X300X20 minimum over the platform prepared. Height of dial gauge to be fixed as per site condition. Also a top platform of 300x300x10 needs to be prepared for fixing the wire with dial gauge.

4.2 Dial gauge fixing

  1. Fix dial gauge on MS plate using magnetic stand.
  2. Fix the 2mm wire rope with top MS plate and fix the MS plate with dial gauge in a such a way that the value of dial gauge should be more than 0.5mm.

4.3 Initial reading before support removal

    Initial reading of the dial gauge to be noted before removal of the vertical props

4.4 Reading after removal of support

Reading of the dial gauge to be noted immediately after removal of the vertical prop

4.5 Reading after certain time of removal

Reading of the dial gauge to be noted after each 2 hour from the time of removal of support.
