SITE INSPECTION REPORT FOR THE FALLEN WALL DURING CONSTRUCTION WORK
OF
CHITTARANJAN PARK, NEW DELHI

Report Summary
The plot is located at E845 Chittaranjan Park. New Delhi.
The house is under construction and currently the basement was being constructed.
On 16 Feb 20 when no construction activity was taking place at E845 the wall of E844 which was being demolished fell into the plot of E845 along with accumulated debris (Malwa).
Site visit was carried out on 01/03/2020 and based on photographic and videographic evidences, the following have been concluded as:-
Main Reasons/ Cause of the Accident.
1. Dismantling/ Demolition of house at E844 CR Park was being carried out without adequate safety and precautions when at E845 basement was being constructed.
2. At no stage the Debris (Malwa) was removed from site and allowed to accumulate within the site of E844.
3. The wall of E844 adjacent to E845 is 4.5 inches and certainly non load bearing wall.
4. All the debris (Malwa) was accumulated on floor slabs and along non load bearing wall.
5. No support was provided to avoid impact or stress of load of Debris (Malwa).
6. The outer wall was joined by bottom and top slab only with no other support.
7. The upper slab was cut/ dismantled without any support leading to excess load on the non load bearing wall, which broke away from top of the building. All the debris (Malwa) accumulated on top of slab and along the wall also caved in.
Immediate Action Recommended for E844.
1. All debris (Malwa) to be removed on immediate basis to reduce load on non load bearing wall.
2. Slabs are to be supported by Jacks and then remove all debris including the ones fallen on E845.
3. Subsequently remove slabs which were supported by jacks.

Visual Inspection Report
| S.no | Image | Observation |
| 1 | ![]() | The outer wall of E844 building is 4.5inch thick which is non load bearing wall. |
| 2 | ![]() | During dismantling of E844 the contactor had not provided any sufficient support to the slabs and walls of the building. |
| 3 | ![]() | During dismantling the contactor had accumulated all the debris “malwa” on the slab which created the stress on the outer wall. Slab was dismantled without providing sufficient support to the wall. |
| 4 | ![]() | As per video it is clear that the wall broke away from main structure from top indicating excess load on this non load bearing wall due to cutting/ dismantling of slab without any support/ jacks and debris (malwa) accumulated along the wall. |
Recommendations for safe progress of construction at E845 C R Park.:-
- . The foundation of E845 adjacent to E844 needs to be demolished/ dismantled and reconstructed as they are damaged and shall not provide the requisite strength to the building structure.
- The exposed soil below the foundation level of the adjacent buildings need to be stabilized by doing guniting with a wire mesh placed on soil.
- Use products of sika for soil stabilization.
